WINsday Inspiration 4/10/2024

"I love the new term so many are saying as they attempt to cope with stress, emotional pain, financial or relationship issues... "I'm just LIFEing right now...dealing with some changes."

I hear this many times during my life coaching sessions as women are navigating depression, divorce, delays, debt, drama, disappointments, sickness, loss/grief, loneliness, parenting or caregiving stress, job/home stress, and fears.

Depression can be so sneaky and hold you hostage causing feelings of sadness, worthlessness, helplessness, and loss of interest. This common condition can lead to physical symptoms, like trouble sleeping, appetite loss, fatigue, defeat, self-harm, and a negative loop of shame, defeat, and hopelessness playing on repeat in the mind. I find too many suffering in silence and isolation. The mind gets stuck in their story of hurt, victimization, poor past choices, and/or trauma. A depressed person often focuses on self-loathing and doomsday thinking which paralyzes them with fear.

There are possibilities, breakthroughs, treatments, connections, and life skills that can help prevent a critical decline in poor mental and emotional health. There are no quick fixes but definitely there are helpful and proven practices that one can begin to experience self-care, healing, confidence, faith, worthiness, and a more positive outlook on life. The good news is that once you are aware of those "slipping into darkness feelings" and have the desire to change, and gain the knowledge to change your thinking...coaches like myself support you with tools to sustain the change." - Jewel Diamond Taylor, author of "ShiFT Happens."
